I’ve been lucky in my life: travelled the world, fallen in love, had two fantastically talented (and annoying) children, and was blessed to be born in Nottingham. Topping that list is impossible.
But there always remains the chance of finding a place on this Earth that allows you to gaze – both metaphorically and simultaneously – into the past, present, and future.
I’ve discovered quite a few gems, but if you want a dollop of eccentricity, excellent local cuisine, and an elegance that only nature can provide, I recommend that you book a table at the Fisherman’s Inn, Puerto Santiago, Tenerife, overlooking the subtle beauty of the Atlantic Ocean and the mysterious and secretive Doctor Moreau’s island – otherwise known as La Gomera.
Owner Carlos Sanjoan has his own secrets to tell about his life in Venezuela and his seven wives – number six cooks the incredible fare ─ and there is more …
But if you want to know the rest of the story, you know what to do!
Cheers!
